Our story and community
Our founder & Head Coach Mothilal Jayathilake, has over 35 years of experience in the sports and fitness industry and is passionate about helping others transform their lives through CrossFit.
At LEADER CrossFit we aim to improve your capacity in ten recognized fitness domains: cardio-respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy. The result is comprehensive physical fitness, restored vitality and longevity.
LEADER CrossFit is not just a place to get a good workout – it’s a diverse community that includes members of our military, full-time moms, doctors, lawyers, police officers, business executives, elite athletes, kids, and retired grandparents. The atmosphere in our gym is one of Fun, Teamwork, Support and Camaraderie.
We have an inclusive environment, our members all know each other, support one another, and socialize in and outside of the gym. Also, while many of our workouts are timed and competitive, it is all done in a supportive and team-oriented environment.

Our Facility: Our facility features a colorful, spacious and open aired, highly energetic environment with the latest CrossFit equipment, spacious workout areas, outdoor CrossFit rig and modern amenities, ensuring you have everything needed for success and comfort.
CrossFit is elite fitness for everyone. Our classes and private coaching are based on the CrossFit program originally developed by legendary coach Greg Glassman after his many years of watching, working with, and coaching all types of people - from those merely interested in general fitness to elite athletes.
CrossFit workouts are comprised of constantly varied functional movements (like pushing, pulling, squatting, lifting, running) executed at high intensity. At Colombo CrossFit, you will not find any machines - instead, you will find kettlebells, barbells, medicine balls, sleds, and tons of open space for running, jumping, climbing, lifting, and throwing. The workouts themselves are completely scalable, which means that a new participant and a CrossFit veteran can complete the same workout with changes in load and intensity. CrossFit workouts will deliver phenomenal fitness in and of themselves or as a complement to your sport-specific training regime.

Then CrossFit is for YOU. Our classes take place at our beautiful warehouse in the Pelawatta. Every workout is different, and since you will rarely do the same thing twice, you are less likely to lose interest or get bored than if you were doing the same circuits at the gym three days a week. Because our workouts are rarely more than 45 minutes long they can fit into even the busiest schedules. Perhaps most importantly, since we opened our doors in March 2017, our athletes have seen dramatic changes in their speed, strength, performance, and body composition. COLOMBO CrossFit opened its doors in 2017 as the first CrossFit gym in SRI LANKA . We pride ourselves on our exceptionally trained and experienced staff who can help you get fit for life in a safe and supportive environment.

We started a tradition when our doors first opened in 2017 of doing introductions at the beginning of each class - a tradition which has been adopted by CrossFit .
